Rhode Island's two representatives to the New England Division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) have been elected to new positions on the New England Association of Fire Chiefs board of directors.
In a contested election, Chief Robert E. Bradley Jr. was the winner by a decisive margin for the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the NEAFC. Additionally, Chief Mike DeMello has moved up from RI state director to 2nd vice president of the organization. By Chief DeMello moving into the "chairs", an opening for a new RI director has been created, giving RI three seats on the NEAFC board.
The conference featured the Officer Development Program (ODP) training modules over three days, with more than 80 participants taking advantage of the opportunity for this high level of professional development. In addition, the RIAFC Foundation's SAFER grant for recruitment & retention of volunteer firefighters sponsored a leadership seminar and a booth on the expo floor. |
