| The Rhode Island Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums organized their annual Remembrance Service on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The ceremony began at 3:43 in the afternoon with the band marching in playing Irish 1. Reverend Gary Lemery offered the invocation and Captain Joseph Conroy, Narragansett FD, read the Firemen's Prayer. Chief Robert Lloyd, Ret. explained the purpose of the ceremony and recruit class 037's Brendan Craver spoke about how 9-11 is important to his class of recruits.
The band played Fallen and Deputy Chief Joshua Ferreira, Tiverton FD, read the poem Brother When You Weep For Me. A special bell ceremony was conducted with Fire Academy Deputy Director Joe Vingi explaining the ceremony.
After the band played Amazing Grace, Reverend Lemery offered his benidiction. |
