The Bristol Fire Department, led by Chief Mike DeMello, once again put on a great clam boil for the RI Association of Fire Chiefs to benefit the RIAFC Foundation. Attendance was 110 members and guests of the RIAFC with another dozen or more members of the BFD doing the cooking and serving.
Chief Robert Bradley recognized the 16 board members of the New England Association of Fire Chiefs in attendance. The NEAFC board was in Bristol for their quarterly board meeting being hosted by their president, as well as RIAFC president, Chief Bradley and RI NEAFC Director, Chief Demello.
The event was such a great success due in large part by the donations made by our vendor sponsors MES Shipmans & Corey Centracchio, partnering with Scott Safety & Brandon Millan, who gave $1,000 to sponsor. New England Fire Equipment and Apparatus (NEFEA) also sponsored at the $1,000 level. Our PFIA representative, Ray Masse, secured a $200 donation from PFIA. Chief Demello also secured a $200 donation from Purvis Systems. "The $2,400 in sponsorships by our amazing vendor members made a huge difference in this event, and we thank them for their generocity and support of the RIAFC" said Chief Bradley.
Attendees donated items for the raffle which also added to the approximate $4,500 raised to support the RIAFC Foundation and it's work to support the RI LAST, RI Firefighters Memorial, RI CISM, NFA Firefighter Weekend, EMS Expo, other professional development training and more.
Thanks to the Bristol FD for the wonderful food and service, and to all who attended and donated to make this event such a great success! |
