The Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs offers a Firefighter Entry Level Exam, which will be conducted four times a year in order to find qualified applicants to fill open positions for firefighters in our member communities. Please see the participating agencies listed below. Any candidate may choose to re-register & re-test to improve their score at any subsequent testing session.

How It Works

Results will be accepted by 28 agencies!

Your two-year application eligibility period begins on the day you take the exam.  During this 24-month period, you may apply for any position advertised by a department participating in the RIAFC testing program, provided you meet that department’s requirements, as well as any other department-specific prerequisites.

DRESS CODE POLICY - Professional business attire is expected while taking this exam. Please dress in a manner that shows respect to the organization.
