The Providence Bruins and the AMP hosted First Responders Weekend with P Bruins games on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, March 23rd and 24th. Rhode Island Energy, who partners with the P Bruins to sponsor the event, made a very generous donation of $7,000 to the RIAFC Foundation for their work in the fire service around the state. The very large check was presented to Chief Bob Bradley, RI Association of Fire Chiefs president, and Chief Rick Susi, Ret., RIAFC executive director, on Sunday afternoon between the first and second period of the game.

Attendance by first responders from around the state was excellent, with many hundreds there with their family and friends. On Sunday, attendees saw displays of two fully extended ladder trucks from the Providence Fire Department and the RI Fire Academy, along with the RI Bomb Squad response vehicle and two mounted Providence Police Department officers on their very large and beautiful Clydesdale horses. Upon entering the AMP, hockey fans were treated to displays from the RI Bomb Squad with their tactical robots, RI Fire Marshal's office, the RI Association of Fire Chiefs, and of course, Sparky the Fire Dog.

On Saturday, Chief Bob Bradley was given the honor of ceremoniously dropping the puck to start the game. A shout out goes to Chief John Silva III, president of the RIAFC Foundation for bringing all the RIAFC gear to and from the AMP, and manning the RIAFC display. Thanks Chief!

A very special THANK YOU to Rhode Island Energy for their generous donation, and to the Providence Bruins and the AMP for their amazing hospitality. Your efforts are very much appreciated!
